My husband Patrick and I are originally from Northeast PA. We moved to Carolina Beach in April of ’15. I consider myself blessed to be living on Pleasure Island and wish to contribute in enhancing our island and supporting its residents and guests. Currently I am semi-retired devoting my time to numerous Island Women committees and projects. I have two wonderful grown sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law who live in PA and numerous grand-dogs and grand-cats. Patrick and I have two furry sons, Chase, who is a six-year old rescued yellow lab and an adopted seven year old boxer Mugsy. I absolutely love spending time on the beach. I also enjoy eating my husband’s gourmet creations, wine tastings, reading, running, lifting weights and riding my bike. Before accepting the position of President-Elect, I was active in the Reusable Bag Committee, Membership Committee, SHE Committee, Martha’s Kitchen and have been a board member-at -large.
For those of you who are new to Island Women, welcome! I urge you to jump in with both feet. You will be rewarded with newly found friendships and rewarding experiences while improving this incredible island.
I am the mother of an 8 year old self-proclaimed mermaid princess. I work full time as a registered veterinary technician, and have been in the profession for over 20 years. I have recently, in the past 2 years, decided that what I needed in my life was to help others in many different facets of volunteering. I have volunteered at Carolina Beach Elementary with my daughter’s school in the past, but joining the Island Women has opened my eyes to so many new opportunities to help others. I have worked with the Little Free Libraries for the past year, started volunteering at Martha’s Kitchen, and am the chairperson for the Member Care Committee. I am excited and look forward to what’s to come this year with the IW
My family fell in love with Pleasure Island on our first visit in the late 80’s. My husband, Glenn, & I finally joined other family members moving to the area in 2015. Recently retired from my position as the accounting and operations manager of a 7000-member non-profit association. I also served as the Auxiliary President of the American Legion Post 1976 in Annandale Virginia. I am looking forward getting to know the Island Women and sharing my experiences with them to continue their commitment to the community.
