Island Women is all about supporting local businesses, which is why the SHE (Social/Health/Enrichment) committee hosted a successful shopping night at Coharie Coastal Boutique on Monday, May 7. Located at 120 N. Lake Park Boulevard, Coharie sells a wide selection of attractive clothing and home décor. The owner, Jamie Johnson Moore, knows a thing or two about fashion. She used to dress movie and TV stars.
About 20 Island Women took advantage of the event’s 10 percent discount to shop Monday night. The champagne flowed, and the snacks displayed on the boards created by Grateful Graze were irresistible. Everyone went home with a small goodie bag. Congratulations to Shelley Germain for winning a $25 gift certificate to the store, and Kerry Collins who won a bottle of wine wrapped in a tea towel Coharie sells decorated with (you guessed it!) a flamingo.
If you missed the Island Women private shopping night, drop into Coharie any time. The new store sells everything from environmentally friendly sunscreen, and really cute swim shorts, to work from local artists. New items arrive daily. Tell Jamie that Island Women sent you!
