Member Spotlight: Terri Bose

Terri Bose joined Island Women shortly after she moved to Carolina Beach from Long Island in 2020, "because I wanted to meet people,” she said. Since joining, “everyone I’ve met has been so nice.”

While she’s disabled and unable to attend many meetings, Terri found ways to volunteer her time and expertise to the organization. In her former life, she ran an advertising agency and created dozens of flyers, logos, and brochures. She quickly put her skills to use helping Rhonda Lee with Island Women’s graphic design needs.

One of Terri’s first projects was assisting Rhonda with the design of the 2025 reusable bag. Terri also designed the cover of the Island Women Cookbook and did the signage for last year's Flock of Food Trucks.

Since Rhonda stepped back from designing most Island Women projects, Terri has stepped in. Now she has a lot of projects on her plate, including a new rack card for Island Women, the 2026 reusable bag, and signage for next year’s Pleasure Island talent show.

Terri said she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering for Island Women.

"I enjoy the projects because I’m not doing it for work anymore. It’s fun for me to do. “As far as I’m concerned, I don’t work, I play on the computer.”

She encourages new members to get involved with the organization. “Pick something you know you’ll have fun with.” Then see how much you want to do as time goes on.”
