A History of Giving

Island Women (IW) supports our community every year from contributions we receive from generous individuals and businesses like you. Here’s just a few ways you can help.




Made by Island Women

Crafty Chicks committee members make key chains, jewelry and other items to help support IW. These items are available for a small donation in local shops and restaurants on the island and make great gifts.


Flamingo Flocking

Make their day, send a flock their way! Picture a flock of bright and cheerful pink flamingoes in the yard of a family member or friend celebrating a special occasion.

One Specialty Bird with at least 20 of its friends and a personalized sign is delivered very late the night before or very early on the day of the special occasion.  We have flocks for every occasion; birthday, get well, bride and grooms, baby, all major holidays, graduation and more!

Flocking territory is Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and across the bridge to Masonboro.

Minimum order is 20 birds for $20 plus $1 for each additional bird.

Reusable Bag Fundraiser

Reusable Bag Project

Picture a beach community with no plastic bags anywhere; add an opportunity for local businesses to get additional exposure and for residents and guests to have a practical reminder of all that Pleasure Island offers – this is our Reusable Bag project!  Over 35,000 bags have been distributed since 2014, proceeds from the sale of the bags fund IW’s efforts to make a positive impact on Pleasure Island.


Business owners – Choose from 4 levels of support and have your name or logo added to our custom reusable shopping bags. All sponsors are featured on our website and if you sign up early, we’ll add a link to a promotional video about your business.
